Tangrama has been invited by
{IMG.} Editores to participate in the project "Sobre/Superficies". A publication that surveys 13 graphic design studios / independent graphic designers from Colombia that work in the expanded field of printed matter. This book will be published in mid-2011.
JANUARY 14 / 2011 We're thrilled to announce that the book
David Consuegra: pensamiento gráfico has been printed.
224 pages, more than 300 images in color, hard cover. Featuring texts by Álvaro Medina, Octavio Mercado, Josep M. Pujol, Patricia Córdoba, Camilo Umaña and César Puertas. Foreword by Lucas Ospina.
Plus...
Four (yes...four!) .otf typefaces designed by David Consuegra (digitally traced by Colombian typographer César Puertas) and ready to be used (each book has a personal code to download the font package for free!)
The book launch party will be in mid February. We'll keep everyone posted—once we get both place and date for the launching.

Hi Everyone! We're thrilled to introduce Tangrama Sans. A typeface inspired in Tangrama's logotype, and developed with the help by Colombian typographer César Puertas.

HOW TO APPLY
Please send us your design proposal using our typeface. You can use other typefaces, but don't forget to use Tangrama Sans!
You can include any information you think it would be suitable for our card. We count on your imagination!
The design should have the following specs:
600 px (width) x 600 px (height). Only height can be smaller than 600 px (if desired), but width should not be different than 600 px.
Please save your files at 150 dpi in RGB color mode. JPG's and GIF's are welcome!

DATES
This open call starts in November 19th and ends in December 16th, 2010. Proposals sent later, won't be accepted.
PRIZE
The first (and only) prize for the best design of our holiday card will win the book: Merz to Emigré and Beyond by Steven Heller.
The next best four designs will be posted in our website.
Tangrama's staff will be the jury of this open call. We'll overview all design proposals in December 17th and select the five best designs. The winner (and next four best participants), will be immediately informed about our decision by e-mail.

Tangrama has been selected by the 2a Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño, opening on the 22nd of November at the Central de Diseño del Matadero de Madrid (the exhibition will be opened until Feb. 2011). We have been selected with the work Palabras que nos cambiaron: Lenguaje y poder en la independencia, developed for the Biblioteca Luis ángel Arango, Bogotá (Colombia).
The selection committee included Carmelo Di Bártolo, Adelia Borges, Lili Díaz, Fernando Gutiérrez, Antonio Toca and Julius Wiedemann.

Lucas Ospina has written an article for ARTERIA Magazine on a series of recent exhibitions realted to the Bicentennial of Independence in Colombia. Ospina's article makes reference to "Palabras que nos cambiaron" an exhibition presented at Banco de la República (Colombia), for which Tangrama developed its graphic identity. Hi Everyone!!!! We're exited to introduce TangramaSans. A typeface inspired in Tangrama's logotype. Soon, everyone will have the opportunity to download the .otf file from our website (no cost at all!). We're now in the process of tweaking some characters... but happily, the overall is almost ready to kick ass!
Many thanks to Colombian typographer César Puertas, who has given us an invaluable support in this project.
